Dipali Taneja on FB re The Face At The Window
Book No. 20
Kiran Manral‘s utterly compelling, many layered, totally spooky book, The Face at the Window. Written in the first person, in a tone several shades darker than anything else she has written, this is really hard to put down. But I did put it down, half read, because I wanted to sleep well at night, not haunted by the strange face that is seen by many at Mrs. McNally’s house in the hills. It brings to the fore questions of identity, roots, and the human need to belong. Is it more important to disclose the truth, or allow your loved ones the comfort of the truths they are familiar with? Compelling indeed.
